
Melnor AquaTimer Water Timers
Melnor is renowned for its innovation in faucet and hose timers, like the AquaTimer Water Timer series. Melnor AquaTimer Water Timers are two versions each in 3 type, the 4 zone, 2 zone and 1 zone. In this article we are going to be looking at the version that bares a 5 digit model number. There is another version that bares a 4 digit model number which are an earlier to the one discussed here. There is often confusion between the two.
To clear the confusion that buyers normally have when buying a Melnor water timer, below are images and links that can be clicked to get to the correct product. There is also Melnor WiFi Aquatimer – 15043-RSC and Melnor 16043-RSC, both are 4-zone internet enabled devices.
Different Melnor Aquatimer 4-zone Digital Water Timer
Below are 2 different Melnor aqua timers, both 4 zone. Note that there is the 33280 model and the 3280 model. The Melnor aqua timer 3280 model is compatible with the Melnor’s AquaSentry Automatic Rain Delay Model 3300 for automatic rain delay feature. However, the 33280 model Melnor Advanced 4-zone electronic water timer is not compatible with the 3300 AquaSentry. Take a closer look.

You will notice that the Melnor website makes no reference to automatic rain delay feature with the AquaSentry like it does with the 3280 model below.

You will notice that Melnor clearly states that you can couple it with the Melnor Aqua Timer Rain Delay device 3300.
With the Melnor Aquatimer, watering your yard or garden could not be any easier. The device is battery operated and you can program zones to be watered independent of each zone and automatically. If there are instances where you want to use your faucet manually you can simply switch to manual. Watch the video below to explain further.
Melnor Aqua Timer 2 Zone Digital Water Timer
In the same as the above 4-zone hose timers, there is some confusion between the original and advanced aquatimers. There is model 33100 which is the advanced version and there is 3100 which is the earlier version. The drawback with this is that the advanced version has no automatic rain delay.

There is Melnor Aqua timer 3015 which is a lower version of the 3100. You will notice that Melnor clearly states that you can couple it with the Melnor Aqua Timer Rain Delay device 3300.
The other difference between the advanced and the earlier versions is that the advanced aquatimers can automatically water the garden up 24 times a day while the earlier version can water up 6 times a day. The programming is almost the same not much difference there. The way you connect your sprinkler system or hoses is also the same. It is also worth noting that the Melnor water timer instructions indicate that the AquaSentry is compatible with select aquatimers, not all!
